Playground Safety and Play Structure Quality

Playground safety comes first when it comes to designing kids’ outdoor playground climbing equipment, Climbinet is first and foremost committed to ensuring that every play structure and playground net it produces strictly adheres to the ASTM & CSA requirements for playground safety. Climbinet strives to go above and beyond its own rigorous standards to ensure children are always protected against injury.

Climbinet does not compromise on playground equipment safety. See for yourself some of the unparalleled safety features of Climbinet playground net structures:

Play Structure Freefall Prevention System

A key feature of Climbinet play structures is the Freefall Prevention system. The Mast Nets and Climbing Nets are designed so that there is always a narrow width between ropes. Therefore, children cannot fall directly to the ground since they are always held up by a supportive playground net layer. Should a child fall inside the play structure, he or she will be caught by an intermediate playground net below. Furthermore, the dimensions of the Mast Nets’ widening base ensure that a falling child will be effectively caught by the exterior structure. See the playground safety diagram in figure 1:

Climbinet’s play structures allow children to maintain body stability, which increases security of movement and playground safety. Thanks to its design, children need to navigate a play structure with only one free limb off the playground. Therefore, a child must at all times employ either two hands and one foot, or one hand and two feet. Thus, Climbinet play structures ensure that children always feel safe and stable as they play.

20 Millimeter Diameter Playground Net Ropes

Playground safety starts with kids feeling stable and comfortable on the play structure. Therefore, Climbinet went beyond the industry standard by upgrading from 16mm rope to 20mm playground net rope. The extra little bit makes a huge difference, as kids find that the larger ropes are easier to hold and climb on. Additionally, they provide boost playground safety by creating a narrower gap between ropes, thus ensuring better fall protection. Climbinet’s 20mm diameter playground net ropes are standard on every one of Climbinet’s play structures.

One-Piece Connector Joint Used on All Play Structures

Climbinet uses a unique, one-piece connector joint between rope intersections, instead of a spliced joint. This boosts playground safety in two important ways; first, it creates a more durable joint that will not split/break due to heavy equipment load. Second, by securing the joint in place, it reduces the risk of fracture. The joint stays intact longer and not wear down to expose dangerous sharp edges.  For more information on the one-piece connector joints, and other Climbinet features that boost playground safety, find out why Climbinet playground equipment.
